20 years as freelance artist specializing in maps, charts and informational graphics. I have diagrammed almost everything and mapped just about everywhere. I've won numerous awards from Dallas Press Club and Society of News Design.
Software: Primarily Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, also some Dreamweaver and Flash.
Hardware: Apple 12-core, 2.93-GHz Mac Pro tower; three side-by-side monitors: 30-inch Apple Cinema Display plus two 24-inch Dells; RAID drive; two CD drives. I have a private ftp site for large file transfer.
I play viola in a local orchestra and mandolin in an ol' time gospel group. My ham radio call sign is KE5QPQ. I have had training as a city-certified tornado spotter. I'm a member of the Tarrant County Medical Reserve Corps, training to direct emergency communications.
I'm paper trained: I don't freak out, I know how to communicate and I never miss a deadline!
I can get 'er done: I did 288 maps for the Texas Almanac plus 160+ jogging maps for Westin hotels plus 100+ graphics for a number of big textbooks plus lots of other stuff. I have good sub-contractors that help me with the big projects.
I can get 'er done right: I love tackling dry numbers, boring diagrams, stacks of scribbles and making them special.
